Stance width and proper body positioning are the biggest factors in hitting solid chip shots. If you set up with a wide stance, it’s easy to tilt your spine away from the target (far left). From there, you’ll tend to hit your chips fat or thin. Instead, set up with a narrow stance and lean your whole body slightly toward the target (middle). When you swing, maintain this body-forward position (near left), as it will encourage you to keep your hands ahead of the clubhead past impact.
