The secret to lagging

Unlike a short or medium-range putting stroke (left photo), you need some wrist action to generate feel to get long putts close.

Try this tip for distance control: Take your normal putting stance, but switch to your full-swing grip. This will give you more wrist action and encourage much better feel. On long putts, you must release the left wrist (a cupping) just after the putterhead makes contact with the ball.

With most shots, wrist action is an essential ingredient for feel, and you believe adopting this grip change will improve your touch to lag them close, too.
