To ensure your posture is correct start off as if you’re about to sit in a tall chair (a bar stool is too tall and in any case you haven’t done enough work yet to merit a drink at the 19th, so just a tall chair). Place your feet shoulder-width apart so that you can easily shift your weight and keep balanced. Your backside should continue to stick out as if seated. Each time you’re about to take a shot remember the following drill.
1. Take hold of the club and raise it parallel to the ground to ensure you are standing straight and tall
2. Let the club head touch the ground by bending forward from your hips – when the club touches the ground stop bending.
3. Allow your knees to flex just enough to create tension in your thighs, but don’t overstretch them, they should be flex but you shouldn’t be reducing your height
If you follow that procedure before every stroke, you’ll pretty much have the perfect posture to hit the ball cleanly and well
