Putting tips for long and medium range putts

If you find that you are having difficulty getting up to the hole on medium and long range putts, check that you don’t have the ball positioned too far back in your stance.

If the ball is too far back, the hands may get ahead ataddress and this can lead to a downward strike on the ball producing backspin and causing the ball to stop quickerthan you might anticipate.


If the ball is positioned further forward in the stance,with the hands above or even slightly behind the ball, itis more likely that the putter will strike the ball on theupswing, imparting overspin and making it run further.
