Sweep the ball off the turf is a great swing thought for hitting a 3-wood from the fairway, but you need to make a few adjustments.
Play the ball just inside the heel of your front foot. Then widen your stance so your back shoulder is significantly lower than your front .
The shaft should lean slightly toward the target, but not as much as it does with an iron.
With this new setup, the club head will swing on a more level attack angle, and you should have no trouble launching the ball high and far.
