Develop a safe shot

Does this sound familiar? You lose control of your swing under pressure and/or you do not have a reliable golf shot shape.

Many of the world’s best players hit a fade when they are under pressure. The ability to harness the extra energy created by adrenalin and to turn your upper body hard through the ball creates a safe shot.

Place a golf club down to mark your target line. Start by setting the club at address and aiming at your target. Now set your feet aiming left of the fairway. This is key as your open-body position alters your swing path.

It is imperative you swing the club along the line of your body. The club will travel from outside the target line to in, creating sidespin. A safe shot under pressure is essential – so take time to work on this in practice.
